Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is hiring a Meat Cutter to stock and maintain meat cases, assist customers, and ensure accurate labeling and pricing. You will work with knives and meat equipment, following safety guidelines and department procedures.

Ideal candidates will have strong customer service, attention to detail, and 2+ years in meat/pantry operations, with a preference for grocery retail experience and journeyman training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience in meat department.
• Preferred 2-3 years grocery retail experience in Meat department; journeyman cutter or apprenticeship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stocks meat cases with proper presentation and pricing as per department schematics.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in the meat aisles, cooler and work area.
• Monitors product rotation and logs shipments by temperature and quality.
• Assists customers at the meat counter and supports cross-selling opportunities.
• Operates knives, scales, wrappers, and other meat department equipment; follows safety guidelines.
• Cuts, trays, and packages meat/seafood products for daily needs.
• Performs pre-inventory and back stock tasks; ensures tags match products.
