Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. is seeking a Meat Cutter to expertly cut, prepare, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal and poultry. You will ensure product quality, maintain clean stations, and provide friendly customer service.

The role requires 14+ months retail meat experience, completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. We offer Whole Benefits, store discounts, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail meat department experience.
• Completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven ready products, cured meats).
• Checks product to meet WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and prevents spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling.
• Maximizes sales via proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work area and equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures signs/pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
