Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Lafayette, CA is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut, prepare, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry. You will prepare specialty meat products, ensure quality standards, maintain sampling, prevent spoilage, and deliver exceptional customer service while supporting store programs and safety regulations.

The role requires 14+ months of retail experience and completion of the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or an equivalent training program.

Qualifications

• Excellent cutting skills and ability to break down products into sub-primal and retail cuts.
• Extensive knowledge of meat and seafood cuts and cooking techniques.
• Ability to visually inspect products for quality and freshness.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (saUsage sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to meet Whole Foods Market quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program and prevents spoilage.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
