Job summary

Save-A-Lot, Ltd. in Toledo, OH is hiring a Meat Cutter to maintain the meat department, trim and prepare standard cuts, and ensure freshness and display quality. You will follow the Meat Cutter Resource Manual and work under store leadership to meet sales and quality benchmarks.

The role requires 18+, a HS diploma, and at least basic math and English skills. Prior meat-cutting experience is preferred; willingness to work with knives, slicers, and grinders is essential.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age and HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year meat-cutting experience preferred; including hand tools and power equipment.
• Basic math and ability to read/write in English; good communication skills.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work across store areas as needed.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead meat department performance to meet or exceed metrics.
• Order, merchandise, and control shrink to meet goals.
• Coach and train others in meat-related tasks.
• Cut and package beef, pork and poultry per policy.
• Display, date rotate, and label products for sale.
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and quality per policy.
• Protect store property and assist in other store areas as needed.
