Job summary

Save A Lot is seeking a Meat Cutter to maintain the meat department standards, trim and prepare cuts, and present products to maximize sales and customer satisfaction. You will work under supervision of store leadership and collaborate with the meat team.

The right candidate has a high school diploma, at least one year cutting meat, strong math and customer-service skills. English fluency is required; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of previous experience cutting meat including using hand tools and power equipment preferred.
• Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English; Spanish or other languages a plus.
• Must be dependable and flexible, including willingness to work in other areas of the store as needed with little or no advance notice.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Must adhere to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Store Manager and follow direction with the Meat Specialist.
• Lead the meat department to achieve and exceed metric goals.
• Order, merchandise, manage productivity, and control shrink to meet company goals.
• Coach and train others in meat-related tasks.
• Set priorities and direct tasks within the meat department.
• Enforce meat policies and procedures within the store.
• Cut and package beef, pork and poultry per policies and procedures.
• Maintain attractive displays and updated signs to maximize sales.
