Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Boulder, CO is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our team. You will cut, platters, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry, ensuring quality and freshness while delivering friendly service to customers.

You will prep specialty meats, maintain sanitation, and support trainees. Strong cutting skills and knowledge of meat cuts, plus a commitment to safety and teamwork, are essential.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Successfully completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or an equivalent training program.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to make sure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports assigned Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques; answers phones and pages promptly and courteously.
• Maximizes sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
