Qualifications

• Meets WFM meat department processes and procedures.
• Excellent cutting skills, able to break down products into sub-primal cuts.
• Knowledge of various meat and seafood cuts and cooking techniques.
• Able to assess product quality and freshness at a glance.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausage, oven-ready, cured meats).
• Ensures products meet quality standards and maintains sampling program.
• Monitors spoilage and supports meat department inventory controls.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainees and provides on-the-job guidance.
• Arrives on time and adheres to uniform and safety standards.
• Delivers courteous customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maintains clean, sanitary work and shopping environments; adheres to Weights & Measures, health and sanitation rules.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and verifies pricing signs.
• Reports safety hazards and supports store safety programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
