Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Bee Cave, TX is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our team. You will cut, prepare, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service to customers and Team Members.

Follow SOPs, maintain safety and sanitation standards, train Meat Cutter Trainees, and ensure accurate signage and pricing. This role requires physical fitness and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in a cold environment.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to make sure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safety procedures and maintains a clean work area.
• Reports safety hazards and performs other duties as assigned.
