Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Easton, MD is seeking a Meat Cutter apprentice to join our team in the meat department. You will assist Members, cut, grind, wrap, and prepare meat products, and help maintain case displays.

This six-month apprenticeship trains you in food safety, proper portioning, and customer service while you grow with a values-driven retailer. Competitive pay and benefits start from day one.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members by answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Recommend food products when appropriate.
• Cut, grind, process fresh meats; weigh, package, wrap and label.
• Prepare special meat cuts ordered by Members.
• Ensure meat cases display current products.
• Rotate meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses by date.
• Inspect and store meats upon delivery; meet quality standards.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, fixtures, and display areas.
• Follow club policies; perform other duties, including other departments.
