Job summary

Genesiscareers in Lanham, MD seeks an MDS Coordinator - RN to ensure timely, accurate MDS assessments and to review care plans for physical, cognitive, and social factors, supporting compliant reimbursement and high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include managing Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documentation, conducting concurrent MDS reviews to maximize RUG categories, and coordinating input from nursing, dietary, social services, restorative, rehabilitation and physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current RN licensure.
• At least one year of long-term care nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• The MDS Coordinator - RN ensures timely and accurate MDS assessments and reviews care plans for physical, cognitive, and social factors to support high-quality resident care.
• Manage Medicare/Medicaid case-mix documentation and coordinate input from nursing, dietary, social services, restorative and physicians to assure appropriate reimbursement.
• Conduct concurrent MDS reviews to maximize allowable RUG categories and ensure compliance with standards.
