Job summary

UF Health is seeking a professional, multi-skilled individual to assist in all aspects of medical practice, including administrative and clinical tasks under the supervision of a licensed physician. Degree in medicine or allied fields is required with plans for careers in healthcare.

The role involves patient examinations, scribe duties documenting interactions, and contributing to care coordination and performance improvement initiatives. BLS certification is required at hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year clerical/customer service experience, ideally in healthcare
• Experience with third party payors and data input in medical records is preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required at time of hire

A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician.Degree in medicine or other fields, with plans for career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical and occupational therapy, or other allied fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
• May perform scribe functions by documenting all provider/patient interactions in the medical record under the supervision and responsibility of a licensed clinician.
• Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms. Participates in performance improvement projects. Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
• Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
• Assists with test scoring.
• Assists with report documentation.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

1 year - Clerical/Customer Service experience, ideally in a healthcare related industry, experience with third party payors and computer experience for inputting data and reviewing patient demographic material. - preferred

Education

Degree in medicine, with plans for a career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical/occupational therapy, or other allied health fields. Required

Certifications/Licensure

Basic Life Support (BLS) - required - at time of hire

Travel

Up to 10%
