Job summary

Buffalo Public Schools seeks a Math Coach (.5) / Support Math Teacher (.5) for Receivership Schools 31, 37, 43, and 97 in Buffalo, NY. The role focuses on guiding teachers in implementing district math programs and unpacking Next Generation Learning Standards.

Responsibilities include modeling lessons in co-teaching settings, providing professional development, analyzing student data, and supporting RtI/AIS initiatives. NY State certification required; five years of teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of teaching experience in relevant setting.
• New York State certification in Mathematics or Elementary Education with math content.
• Knowledge of Next Generation Learning Standards and data-informed instruction.
• Ability to provide adult professional development and classroom support.
• Proficiency with technology required.

Responsibilities

• Guide and assist teachers/administrators in implementing district math programs.
• Unpack and explain Next Generation Learning Standards for staff.
• Model and co-teach lessons to support planning and instruction.
• Plan RtI/AIS lessons with teams and model stations.
• Promote best teaching practices and instructional technology use.
• Develop and deliver PD on math curriculum and instruction.
• Review and analyze student data to guide interventions and program changes.
• Monitor math programs and materials for students below grade level.
• Teach RtI/AIS classes and pull small groups for targeted instruction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Mathematics Department or Principal.
