Job summary

Capital Region Math, operating Mathnasium Westmere, seeks a Lead Instructor to guide students across K-12 math and lead a tutoring team. You will model strong instructional habits, manage session flow, and support instructors during shifts to ensure productive learning.

The role requires deep math knowledge, prior teaching or leadership experience, and the ability to maintain a positive, professional center environment while coordinating with center leadership.

Qualifications

• Mathematics knowledge across K-12 levels, calculus experience a plus.
• Previous teaching, tutoring, Mathnasium, or instructional leadership experience preferred.
• Clear verbal communication and ability to coach instructors in real time.
• Available for at least 4 of 5 weekly open shifts plus prep time before opening.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership and teach students across K-12 math levels using the Mathnasium Method.
• Manage floor flow, seating, pacing, and transitions to keep sessions organized.
• Support instructors during shifts with real-time coaching and guidance.
• Monitor student progress, binders, and learning plans; flag concerns to center leadership.
• Maintain positive interactions with students and families; contribute to a welcoming center environment.
• Assist with center operations, materials prep, organization, and task completion.
