Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will work as a content and assessment expert, leveraging AI tools and collaborating with educators and Pearson teams to ensure high-quality content.

You will develop test items, specifications, and blueprints, and help integrate AI-generated assets into assessment workflows while staying current with educational trends and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI in content creation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across multiple grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications, blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review, and enhancement of assessment content.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Support item writers and educators to develop items based on standards and cognitive complexity.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Assist in test construction and review of composed test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning, status, and review meetings.
• Work with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies relevant to content creation and assessment.
