Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to create K-12 assessment content for state and district clients. You will act as a content and assessment expert, developing items across grade levels and aligning to standards.

You will leverage AI-powered tools to ensure high-quality, accessible content, collaborate with educators and Pearson teams, and help train item writers while supporting customer meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or content area required.
• Five years’ experience as an elementary or secondary teacher in the field of content-specific area preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content-specific area and educational trends required.
• Some experience in large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI in content creation.
• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and evaluating AI-generated content for education purposes.]
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to adapt to new AI technologies and work with various audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, test specifications, and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content development and accessibility standards
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets into workflows.
• Select, manage, and train item writers and educators based on standards and cognitive complexity.
• Support customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Facilitate test construction and review of composed forms.
• Consult with customers in planning and reviews.
• Work with Pearson groups and test development managers.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and assessment.
