Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to help create standards-based K-12 assessments for U.S. state and district clients. You will work as both a content and assessment expert, developing items across grade levels, and ensuring accessibility and quality.

The role aligns with industry titles such as Assessment Specialist or Content Specialist. You will leverage AI tools to support content development, collaborate with educators and psychometricians, and stay current

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
Five years’ classroom experience in a content area preferred.
Strong knowledge of standards-based assessment design and AI-enabled workflows.
Experience or familiarity with prompting and evaluating AI-generated content.

Responsibilities

Develop and review test items (MC, TE, extended response, performance tasks) for large-scale assessments.
Create item, passage and test specifications and blueprints.
Leverage AI-powered tools to improve content quality and accessibility.
Collaborate with teammates to integrate AI assets in assessment workflows.
Select and train item writers; support customer meetings and test construction.
Stay current with emerging AI technologies in educational content creation.
