Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist, Content Developer (Mathematics) to contribute as a content and assessment expert for K-12 state and district assessments. You will develop items, review content, and leverage AI-powered tools within the Asset Creation team to ensure accessible, standards-based assessments.

Collaborate with educators and partners, participate in planning and reviews, and stay current with emerging technologies including AI to enhance content quality and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience or familiarity with large-scale educational assessment development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, test specifications, blueprints and related documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support content quality and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows and provide feedback.
• Help select, assign, and train item writers and educators based on standards and cognitive difficulty.
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction activities and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers in planning, status, and review meetings.
• Work with test development managers, content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation, including AI.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
