Job summary

WSB is seeking a CMT Technician, Materials to perform field and laboratory tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. You will maintain equipment, prepare detailed reports, and work with engineering staff, contractors, and clients to support quality and safety on sites.

This full-time, on-site role in Tulsa requires travel within the territory, ability to lift heavy samples, and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or certifications related to construction inspection or construction materials testing preferred but not required.
• Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.
• Must pass Nuclear Density Safety Course exam within 60 days of employment if not already held.
• Travel may be required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel daily within assigned territory.
• Full-time position with standard business hours; occasional night work or overtime may be required based on project deadlines.
• Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tests according to prescribed procedures and standards.
• Collect soil and concrete samples, prepare samples for testing, record data, and prepare summary reports.
• Use specialized equipment to prepare reports and technical data.
• Operate computer systems and maintain results log.
• Set up, maintain, and calibrate equipment.
• Confers with Engineering staff on test efforts.
• Inspect construction activities on heavy highway construction projects.
• Monitor work performed by contractors or vendors.
• Ensure materials used meet project specifications.
• Inspect excavation, embankment, borrow pits, and placement of topsoil.
• Complete forms and paperwork for daily construction activities.
• Maintain contact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Work with other team members and leaders.
• Move a case up to 95 pounds; push up to 250 pounds in a wheelbarrow.
