Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Lubbock team. You will work with experienced project management professionals to safely perform field observations, sampling, testing, and inspections of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel on construction sites.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and an additional 2 advanced certifications.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Position requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Must provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursed.
• Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Excellent understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively with clients, peers, and supervisors.
• Proficiency with electronic devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops.
• Strong math skills with the ability to read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans.
• Basic knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Perform observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials on construction sites; Execute tasks under guidance of senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement following industry standards.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction; Develop skills in documentation and prepare field reports documenting site observations.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, other technicians, and project managers; Attend project meetings as requested.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; Document findings with precision.
