Job summary

Western Rock Products, a CRH Company, seeks a QC Technician to safely collect samples of soils, aggregates, and asphalt, operate density gauges, and report results accurately. The role requires knowledge of DOT specs and the ability to perform field and lab tests while maintaining safety and documentation.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of QC experience; WAQTC and CAPA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years of QC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect samples for testing.
• Set-up, operate and maintain nuclear density gauges for asphalt and soils compaction.
• Know state DOT and governing agency job specifications.
• Perform project test procedures per certification levels.
• Test and report results accurately and timely.
• Report non-compliant tests to project superintendent.
• Maintain daily test records and prepare reports.
• Perform asphalt coring for density and investigation as needed.
• Maintain clean lab environment and comply with MSHA/OSHA.

Skills

Nuclear gauge operation

WAQTC Certification (preferred)

CAPA Level A & B (certified)

Driver's license with clean record
