Job summary

Amrize is hiring a Quality Control Technician I in Maryland to perform quality control tests per ASTM/AASHTO standards and to support data analysis and reporting. The role involves learning cement, asphalt or aggregate plant operations, conducting calibration of equipment, and assisting with best-practice implementations in quality initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have MD DOT Aggregate Technician certification or the ability to obtain it, MSHA certification or the ability to obtain it within 6

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or 2+ years of experience in materials field preferred.
• MD DOT Aggregate Technician Certificate or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• MSHA certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months through Amrize training.
• Two years of post-secondary technical education or equivalent in experience.

Responsibilities

• Observe and enforce Amrize safety standards and policies.
• Assist with development, administration, implementation and documentation of material control plans and related data.
• Perform calibration and service of laboratory and field testing equipment.
• Update QC/QA test databases and provide reports or analyses as needed.
• Learn basic operations of cement, asphalt or aggregate plants.
• Provide troubleshooting guidance for internal and external customers.
• Support plant changes to ensure conformance and consistency.
• Work under general supervision 20-30% without direct supervision.
