Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Materials Manager to lead material planning, inventory control, warehousing, and inbound/outbound logistics to ensure uninterrupted production. You will optimize material flow from suppliers to the production floor and drive cost efficiency and accuracy across the function.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 5+ years in materials management and 3+ years supervisory experience, with strong knowledge of SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards and Lean practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in materials management, planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize material planning strategies to align inventory levels with production schedules and customer demand.
• Monitor material availability, maintain inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
• Partner with Procurement and suppliers to improve on‑time delivery, lead times, material quality, cost efficiency, and supply continuity.
• Oversee warehouse and logistics operations, including receiving, storage, material handling, production line delivery, freight optimization, and shipping accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards, DOT requirements, 5S practices, and company policies while optimizing space utilization and material flow.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Procurement to ensure material readiness, manage product changes, and resolve supply risks.
• Lead daily tier meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Kaizen, Kanban, VMI, and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Lead, coach, and develop the materials team while establishing performance goals and monitoring KPIs, including inventory accuracy, inventory turns, production material availability, supplier OTD, shortage rates, freight costs, and warehouse productivity.
