Ingersoll Rand in Charlotte, NC seeks a Materials Manager to lead a senior Buyer-Planner team responsible for purchasing, planning, inventory, and supplier performance in a complex manufacturing setting. You will guide material strategy to ensure availability for legacy and next-gen compressor products.

You will own key priorities, drive root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable improvements while partnering with Sourcing, Engineering, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in the integrated functions of a manufacturing environment that has embraced lean concepts, MRP manufacturing practices, and progressive supplier relationships.
• 3+ years in managerial experience focusing on standardizing planning & execution, reducing sourcing complexity, and talent development.
• 2+ years experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes.
• 1+ years experience with visual management systems.

Responsabilités

• Lead all site materials management activities, including production scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, material movement, indirect materials, and supplier performance.
• Drive end-to-end material fulfillment from production planning and procurement through warehousing and product shipment.
• Implement, sustain, and ensure compliance with Materials and SIOP standard work, processes, and systems.
• Manage materials, suppliers, and inventory within a Lean Six Sigma manufacturing environment, leveraging MRP to improve flow, availability, and inventory performance.
• Monitor key materials and supplier performance, identify gaps and root causes, and implement countermeasures that deliver measurable, sustainable improvement.
• Lead, develop, and organize a team of 12-15 Material Planners/Buyers, including performance management, workload allocation, coaching, succession planning, and professional development.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sourcing, Engineering, Accounting, Marketing, Operations, Quality, and Global Procurement to support business priorities, supplier selection, and strategic goals.
• Strengthen supplier relationships and foster a culture of problem solving, accountability, Daily Management, and continuous improvement across the materials organization.
