Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, invites a Senior Manager, Materials to lead the hourly Materials team on the 3rd shift at the Decatur, AL plant. You will ensure material flow, production readiness, and inventory control while guiding Lean improvements across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance to resolve issues, optimize scheduling, and drive continuous improvement, safety, and productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience leading materials or supply chain operations in large manufacturing environments.
• Lean, Six Sigma, DMAIC, A3 problem-solving knowledge; certification a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the hourly Materials team to ensure reliable material flow and production readiness.
• Provide hands-on leadership across third shift materials operations, addressing shortages and disruptions.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance to resolve issues and improve plant performance.
• Champion Lean methodologies to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Oversee material scheduling, inventory accuracy, and production readiness using Oracle EBS.
• Establish clear expectations and use structured problem-solving (A3s, root-cause analysis).
• Develop frontline leadership and foster safety culture and employee engagement.
• Improve material availability and reduce cost of poor quality through process improvements.
• Drive labor productivity through efficient resource allocation and reduced overtime.
• Use data and KPIs to identify gaps and prioritize corrective actions across Materials.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field

Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills

Cross-functional leadership and collaboration

Experience leading Materials or Supply Chain operations

Ability to drive Lean continuous improvement and Six Sigma knowledge
