Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Operations for the 2nd shift in Decatur, AL. You will lead Team Leaders and hourly staff to ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost targets across the value stream.

You will drive continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing practices, and standardized work while partnering with HR and operations leadership to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience and/or technical acumen within manufacturing or related functional area.
• BS/BA degree in engineering, supply chain management or business preferred.
• 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, supplier management and project implementation.
• Six Sigma certification preferred with strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated results-driven methodology and strong analytical skills; schedule achievement and teamwork.
• Lean Manufacturing implementation experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for a production area within the value stream; align area metrics with department goals.
• Direct reports include Team Leaders and hourly production team members; oversee staffing and daily plan.
• Oversee daily start-up and ensure proper staffing; review plans with Team Leaders.
• Lead standardized work and 5S implementation; coach Team Leaders to ensure adherence.
• Promote continuous improvement and cross-functional problem solving within the area.
• Maintain safety, quality, delivery and cost targets; participate in daily production meetings.
