Job summary

GE Appliances in Decatur, AL seeks a Senior Manager, Materials to lead the hourly Materials team and ensure reliable material flow in support of production operations. You will work with Manufacturing and Quality to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost through lean methods and structured problem‑solving.

Oracle EBS will be central to daily scheduling and issue resolution. The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing leadership, a BS/BA in engineering or equivalent, and Six Sigma/Lean

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• BS/BA in industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering or equivalent preferred
• Six Sigma certification preferred; Lean/DMAIC experience
• Experience leading both salaried and hourly teams in a unionized environment

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop the hourly Materials team to ensure reliable material flow
• Partner with Manufacturing and Quality to improve safety, ergonomics, scrap, downtime, and performance
• Lead lean continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve KPIs
• Own day-to-day material availability and scheduling using Oracle EBS
• Use structured problem‑solving tools (A3) to define problems and track actions
• Promote a strong safety culture and EHS initiatives
• Drive variable cost productivity by reducing labor, scrap, and overtime
• Analyze Oracle data to identify and correct part accuracy, inventory, and scheduling issues
