Job summary

GE Appliances in Decatur, AL is seeking a Senior Manager, Materials on the 3rd shift to lead the hourly Materials team, ensure reliable material flow, and align with plant performance objectives.

You will partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Maintenance; drive Lean improvements, manage material availability using Oracle EBS, and develop frontline leadership while upholding safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
• Experience leading Materials or SCM operations in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience using ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS, to manage materials planning, inventory control, scheduling, and reporting.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge; Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Materials Operations: coach and develop the hourly Materials team to ensure reliable material flow and production readiness.
• Own third-shift operational performance: provide hands-on leadership during third shift, addressing shortages, scheduling disruptions, and inventory discrepancies.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration: partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance and other teams to resolve issues and improve plant performance.
• Lead Lean continuous improvement: champion Lean methods and appliance production systems to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, and delivery.
• Use data to drive performance: leverage Oracle EBS reporting and KPIs to identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
