Job summary

SurgCenter of Plano is seeking a Materials Manager/Scrub Tech to streamline inventory and procurement in a busy ambulatory surgical center. The role emphasizes clinical knowledge, efficient supply management, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

Weekend and night calls are not required; weekday-only hours support a balanced work life. Experience as Scrub Tech/CST is highly valued to optimize instrument handling and OR readiness.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum receiving and inventory experience in a health care environment.
• Scrub Tech/CST experience in a multi-specialty surgical environment preferred.
• Knowledge of computer inventory management systems, various software programs and medical products.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Researches and obtains pricing/quotes for medical equipment/supplies used in the facility.
• Maintains files and is familiar with USPI procurement requirements.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels and establishes par levels.
• Interfaces with departments to ensure proper placement, follow up and delivery of orders.
• Manages the Utility Management Program and understands facility maintenance needs.
• Interacts with sales reps to resolve supply-related issues.
• Manages automated inventory system documentation and updates.
• Receives incoming supply and equipment items and rotates stock.
