Job summary

SurgCenter of Plano is seeking a Materials Manager / Scrub Tech to manage procurement, inventory, and supply processes in a weekday-only outpatient setting. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical teams and adherence to USPI procurement standards.

Ideal candidates will have scrub tech experience, healthcare inventory background, and the ability to operate inventory software while maintaining accurate par levels. A physical component includes lifting up to 40 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years minimum receiving and inventory experience in a health care environment.
• Previous Scrub Tech/CST experience in a multi-specialty surgical environment.
• Knowledge of computer inventory management systems and medical products.
• Stocking and storing medical and non-medical supplies.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Researches and obtains pricing/quotes for medical equipment/supplies and products used in the facility.
• Maintains files and is familiar with USPI procurement requirements to acquire, inventory and dispose of items.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels by checking shelves and using the automated system; sets par levels.
• Interfaces with departments to ensure proper placement, follow up and delivery of orders.
• Responsible for Utility Management Program; understands oxygen, vacuum pumps, air filter exchanges and security alarms.
• Interacts with sales representatives to resolve issues related to supplies or delivery.
• Establishes and maintains document flow and updates for the inventory system.
• Receives all incoming supply and equipment items.
• Checks dated items and rotates stock regularly.
• Implements and maintains all facets of the automated inventory system.
