Job summary

SurgCenter of Plano is seeking a Materials Manager / Scrub Tech to join our ambulatory surgery team. This weekday-only position features no holidays, weekends, nights, or on-call duties, and offers a collaborative environment with Baylor Scott & White Health and USPI partners.

Responsibilities include procurement pricing, inventory control, vendor coordination, and maintaining the automated inventory system.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years minimum receiving and inventory experience in a health care environment.
  • Previous Scrub Tech/CST experience in a multi-specialty surgical environment.
  • Knowledge of computer inventory management systems, various software programs and medical products.
  • Working knowledge of stocking and storing medical and non-medical supplies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and obtains pricing/quotes for medical equipment/supplies and products utilized in the facility.
  • Maintains files and is familiar with all USPI procurement requirements necessary to acquire, inventory and dispose of medical equipment, supplies, or products for the facility.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels by checking shelves, automated inventory system, and establishes par levels for all supplies.
  • Interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure proper placement, follow up and delivery of orders.
  • Responsible for Utility Management Program. Understands facility maintenance such as oxygen, vacuum pumps, air filter exchanges and security alarms.
  • Interacts with sales representatives resolving issues and problems related to supplies or the delivery of supplies.
  • Establishes and maintains proper document flow and information updates for the automated inventory system.
  • Receives all incoming supply and equipment items.
  • Checks supply dated items and regularly rotates stock.
  • Implements and maintains all facets of the automated inventory system.

Scrub Tech experience is highly preferred as it provides valuable knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and physician preferences.
