Job summary

Arizona State University in Tempe seeks a Materials Handler within Facilities Management to perform daily recycling routes, assist in waste programs, and help with yard maintenance and vehicle inspections.

Under supervision, you will sort recyclables, operate forklifts and hand trucks, drive university vehicles, and respond to inquiries about proper disposal, contributing to ASU's zero-waste goals while working on a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in recycling/solid waste collection programs is a plus.
• Customer service experience and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily waste and recycling routes and special requests.
• Assist in waste and recycling program implementations across ASU campuses.
• Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff and faculty.
• Drive, load, and unload university vehicles and equipment.
• Sort materials into correct bins and operate material handling equipment.
• Work outdoors handling heavy lifting and bending as required, up to 70 pounds.
• Use work order systems to respond to maintenance requests.
