Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Facilities Assistant 1 to support inspection, maintenance and movement of materials across ASU laboratories and campuses. The role requires safe handling of hazardous materials, accurate inventory, and coordination with multiple departments.

The position is full-time on the Tempe campus with occasional travel to other campuses. The rate is $20.24 per hour, and ASU offers comprehensive benefits and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safety practices and record keeping.
• Ability to work across multiple buildings and departments.

Responsibilities

• Handle shipping/receiving of dangerous goods, chemicals, biologicals, and gases.
• Inspect deliveries for recipient name, damages and proper containment.
• Participate in inventory control and lab supply deliveries with accurate counts.
• Drive transport cart, van, or forklift; travel between campus buildings.
• Coordinate with ASU departments and external carriers; maintain communications.
