Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support waste, recycling, and facility operations at the Tempe campus. The role involves completing daily routes, executing special requests, and ensuring safe handling of materials and equipment.

You will interact with students, staff and faculty while supporting ASU’s zero waste goals. Requires forklift certification or ability to obtain it, with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential field assignments across campuses.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience with recycling/solid waste collection is a plus.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily waste and recycling routes and special requests.
• Assist in implementing waste and recycling programs across ASU campuses.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and faculty.
• Operate vehicles and material handling equipment safely.
• Perform yard maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Use work order systems to respond to maintenance requests.
