Job summary

Adient plc is seeking a Materials Supervisor for a Normal, IL site. The role oversees material control, inbound/outbound shipments, and warehouse operations on the shop floor, with a focus on inventory integrity and cycle counting.

You will train and lead the material handling team, coordinate with Production, ensure safety and quality, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities include daily production scheduling, floor walks, and liaison between Materials and Productions, while

Qualifications

3+ years of materials supervision experience in manufacturing/JIT automotive sequencing preferred.
Strong analytical and formal problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (QAD preferred).

Responsibilities

Coordinate material control systems, inbound/outbound shipments, and inventory control from the shop floor.
Manage and coordinate all material handler activities and warehouse layout.
Train, coach, and develop the material handling team; implement cycle counting and pull systems.
Oversee receiving, DMR processes, and input of incoming receipts; manage outbound shipments.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and 5S standards; perform floor walks and daily production schedule alignment.
