Job summary

Adient US LLC is seeking an Advanced Industrial Engineer focused on material flow automation to provide technical leadership in standard labor analysis and lean manufacturing. The role connects plant IEs to advanced material flow standards, supports layout evaluations, and tracks KPI performance to exceed departmental goals.

The successful candidate will mentor IEs, contribute to automation improvements, and lead training across plants while supporting the development of future manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience in high-volume fulfillment or distribution environments
• Experience designing material replenishment routes for automated and human-powered systems
• Strong computer skills (MS Office, CAD)
• Interest and ability to learn AMR/AGC programming
• Experience with simulation software (FlexSim)
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in a matrix organization
• Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
• Willingness for flexible work and extensive travel

Responsibilities

• Mentor plant and COE IEs to apply lean manufacturing and material flow best practices
• Develop, evaluate, implement, and improve material flow automation across facilities
• Analyze future material flow from dock to point of use
• Support evaluation and rollout of material flow standards and changes
• Lead training and guidance for plant teams during changes to material flow standards
• Maintain central databases for layouts, labor tools, and related documentation
• Contribute to labor roadmaps to close gaps to labor goals
• Support future manufacturing footprint and core assembly processes
• Provide data support to automation teams on material handling operations
• Support key initiatives and core projects as required
