Job summary

Adient plc in Normal, IL is seeking a Materials Supervisor to coordinate material control, inbound/outbound shipments and inventory on the shop floor. You will train and develop the material handling team, drive cycle counting and pull systems, and ensure compliance with quality, safety and 5S standards.

You will lead daily floor walks, production build scheduling, and liaison between Materials and Production, while managing receiving, DMR processes, and warehouse activities to optimize on-time

Qualifications

• 3+ years materials supervision inside manufacturing.
• JIT automotive sequencing experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and formal problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient with ERP systems; QAD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material control systems, inbound/outbound shipments, and inventory control on the shop floor.
• Coordinate all material handler activities and warehouse layout.
• Train, coach, and develop the material handling team; implement cycle counting and pull systems.
• Manage receiving and DMR processes; input incoming receipts timely.
• Oversee outbound shipments and customs compliance requirements.
• Daily floor walks and production build scheduling; liaison between Materials and Production.
• Run RPS history and cumulative reports; monitor Truckload Utilization (TUMS).
• Lead 8D investigations and root-cause analyses; ensure safe, compliant operations.
