Job summary

Adient plc is seeking a Materials Supervisor to manage control systems, shipments, and inventory on the shop floor. The role emphasizes leading the materials team and ensuring accuracy of receipts, DMRs, and external warehouse coordination.

The candidate should have 3+ years of manufacturing material supervision experience, strong analytics, and ERP proficiency, with readiness for a 2nd shift from 5:00pm to 1:30am, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Materials supervision in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with JIT automotive sequencing preferred.
• Strong analytical and formal problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Proficiency with ERP systems; QAD preferred.
• Able to work on 2nd shift 5:00pm - 1:30am - M-F.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material control systems, inbound/outbound shipments, and inventory control, primarily from the shop floor.
• Coordinate all material handler activities and warehouse layout activities.
• Train, coach, and develop the material handling team.
• Implement cycle counting and pull systems for each commodity; manage DMR processes.
• Manage incoming receipts input and outbound shipment processes; ensure timely data.
• Coordinate customs compliance and 8D problem-solving with HSE investigations as needed.
• Serve as liaison between Materials and Production and coordinate external warehouse activities.
• Run reports (RPS history, TUMS) and reconcile supplier data; monitor nonconformities.
