Position Overview: Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Materials Coordinator in Portland, Oregon. The role involves managing the supply chain by ensuring the availability and accuracy of materials, equipment, and tooling to support manufacturing operations. The coordinator will collaborate across departments to optimize processes, resolve discrepancies, and uphold safety and quality standards, contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
  1. Review master schedules and shortage reports, notifying stakeholders of potential issues.
  2. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve parts, equipment, and tooling issues.
  3. Conduct root cause analysis of discrepancies and shortages.
  4. Manage system reallocation and compliance paperwork for parts.
  5. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring availability of materials.
  6. Maintain accountability for capital and non-capital equipment.
  7. Coordinate maintenance and repairs for equipment and tooling.
  8. Support documentation of issues to drive process improvements.
  9. Maintain records, reports, and monitor assignment statuses.
  10. Interpret planning and scheduling data to facilitate material flow.
  11. Coordinate information between shops and identify planning errors for correction.
  12. Research and find substitutions for required items.
  13. Arrange local purchases for critical items not available through standard channels.
  14. Operate shop equipment and information systems as required.
Physical Demands & Hazards:
  • Lifting weights from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
  • Engaging in movements such as reaching, handling, lifting, climbing, and bending.
  • Working in environments with metals, solvents, and coolants.
  • Proximity to moving parts, tools, and potential hazards.
  • Adjusting to varying noise and atmospheric conditions.
  • Using personal safety gear appropriately.
Additional Details:
  • This position is 100% onsite.
  • Must meet US export control requirements (US Person status).
  • Resumes from current Boeing employees via internal channels will be considered.
  • Basic Qualifications include computer competency, 1+ year in warehouse operations, and inventory management, with physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Preferred qualifications include 3+ years in relevant fields.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relocation is at candidate’s expense; no assistance provided.
  • Work is on 2nd shift.
  • Pay range: $25.00 - $49.92/hour.
