Description:
Come join our Supply Chain team at Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England!

This position is based in the OR at the CT Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI).

Position Purpose

Ensures seamless daily operations for adequate supply and implant levels, equipment in good working condition, and surgeons' specialized requests. The Materials Coordinator communicates any supply interruptions and ensures acceptable substitutes are available. Collaborates with CJRI Medical Director and Executive Director to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities. Works with vendors to obtain proposals and submits all supply charges promptly.

What you will do

  • Manage supply chain processes with CJRI to meet service standards.
  • Maintain adequate supply levels through vendor communication, purchasing, inventory management, and overseeing order processes for implants and supplies.
  • Request proposals from manufacturers and distributors for supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate with safety and training officers to stay informed about departmental issues and training opportunities.
  • Monitor performance of the materials management system by reviewing purchasing, warehousing, and inventory reports, recommending corrective actions for cost-effective management.
  • Coordinate resources such as productive hours, space, equipment, and expenses related to the materials department.
  • Support the Orthopedic Service Line by collaborating with leaders in the Spine OR, CJRI Pre-PACU, and CJRI Inpatient areas to meet their supply needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technician, Sterile Processing Technician, OR Nurse (Bachelor’s degree preferred), or other candidates with experience in materials management within an OR setting (orthopedic OR preferred).
  • At least 3 years of OR experience, preferably in Orthopedics; 1 year in Materials Management and inventory control is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cost-effective procurement, storage operations, and inventory management involving medical supplies, durable medical equipment, and other hospital commodities.

Position Highlights and Benefits
