Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials, LLC is seeking a forklift operator to move materials and products within the warehouse. You will load/unload trucks, pick and pack orders, and perform cycle counts while ensuring accuracy and safety on the floor.

The role requires forklift experience, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and basic math skills. You will work under supervision and support ISO/6S initiatives and general site duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must read and write English; French in Quebec is optional.
• Forklift experience preferred and ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Basic math skills and attention to safety procedures.
• Handheld measuring tools and basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials, finished goods, and equipment with a forklift on the warehouse floor.
• Load and unload trucks, verify items, and pick/pack orders per instructions.
• Perform cycle counts and identify defective material for disposition.
• Inspect forklift at shift start and report issues to supervisor.
• Support health, safety, ISO and 6S initiatives; assist with other duties as needed.

Job Summary

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems.

Key Accountabilities

• Accurately removes and stocks product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
• Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
• Loads and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
• Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Completes cycle Counts.
• Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.
• Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
• Performs general clean up.
• Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.
• Participates, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements.
• Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Previous forklift experience
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
• Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements

• Use of handheld measuring tools
• Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
