Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA is seeking a warehouse associate in Auburn, AL to move materials and equipment on the facility floor using a forklift and related gear. This role operates under direct supervision and handles basic issues as they arise.

Responsibilities include stocking, picking and packing orders, loading/unloading trucks, cycle counts, and maintaining safety and cleanliness on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English (French in Quebec).
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. for 100 ft.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Previous forklift experience is required.
• Must be able to sit long periods and perform bending and reaching.

• Accurately removes and stocks product and supplies per inventory plan.
• Selects product to fill customer orders and packages properly.
• Loads and unloads trucks and verifies items.
• Picks, processes and packs orders; may cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Completes cycle counts and identifies defective material.
• Completes paperwork per work instructions when required.
• Performs general cleanup and inspects forklift at shift start.

Job Summary

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems.

Key Accountabilities

• Accurately removes and stocks product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.
• Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.
• Loads and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded.
• Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Completes cycle Counts.
• Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.
• Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.
• Performs general clean up.
• Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.
• Participates, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements.
• Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
• This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet
• Ability to perform basic math skills
• Previous forklift experience
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions
• Safety Mindset

Preferred Requirements

• Use of handheld measuring tools
• Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft Office programs.
