Job summary

thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services in Elgin, IL is seeking a warehouse associate to move raw materials, finished products, and equipment using a forklift and other devices. The role operates on a safety-sensitive basis with pre-employment drug testing and an on-site shift from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with optional weekend overtime.

You will work on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery, loading/unloading trucks, picking and packing orders, and supporting safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, read/write French).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. for 100 feet.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Must be able to sit for long periods and perform bending, twisting, squatting, reaching and grasping motions.
• Safety mindset is required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately removes and stocks product per inventory plan.
• Selects product to fill customer orders and packages them.
• Loads and unloads trucks and verifies items.
• Picks, processes and packs orders; may cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.
• Completes cycle counts and identifies defective material.
• Performs general cleanup and reports forklift issues.

Job Summary

Responsible for movement of raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift truck. May also utilize cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other moving equipment to meet job requirements. Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems. This position has been identified as \"safety sensitive\" by thyssenkrupp under applicable laws. Accordingly, any application for this position that is considered for employment with thyssenkrupp requires successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, which may include testing for marijuana in accordance with any applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm (optional weekend overtime)

This is a position that works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery.

Key Accountabilities

• Accurately removes and stocks product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan.


• Accurately selects product to fill customer orders and package them properly.


• Loads and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded.


• Picking, processing and packing orders, also may be required to cut orders on Kaltenbach saw.


• Completes cycle Counts.


• Identifies, holds and segregates defective material.


• Completes paperwork per work instructions, when required.


• Performs general clean up.


• Inspects forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel.


• Participates, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements.


• Assists in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead.
