Job summary

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is seeking a Material Handler to unload donations, sort into production areas and ensure smooth flow of goods to the production floor. The role involves outdoor/warehouse work with varied temperatures and potential dust exposure.

Pay rate is $17.13/hour. No heavy machinery for minors; forklift operation may be required if forklift certified to Seattle Goodwill standards.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency preferred, but not required
• Applicants must be 18 years or older
• Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills

Responsibilities

• Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods
• Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing
• Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor
• Use cardboard compactors and identify problems
• Maintain donor tallies
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Demonstrate safe work practices in support of a safety culture
