Job summary

Evergreen Goodwill of Northwest Washington is seeking a Material Handler in Silverdale to unload donations and move goods to appropriate production areas. The role is outdoor/warehouse with varying temperatures and requires lifting up to 40 pounds, good communication, and reliable attendance.

Pay rate is $17.13 per hour, with opportunities to work in a team-focused environment and potentially operate a forklift if certified per Seattle Goodwill standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older.
• No prior experience required for this entry role.
• Ability to lift 30–40 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Effective communication, including with those with limited English skills.

Responsibilities

• Remove and sort salvage material and garbage from salable goods.
• Sort donations into appropriate bins for processing.
• Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
• Use cardboard compactors and identify problems.
• Maintain donor tallies.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and report hazards or accidents.
• Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
• If certified, safely operate forklift per Seattle Goodwill standards.
