Job summary

G&W Electric is hiring a Material Handler II in Illinois to move materials between cells, unload and store parts, verify quantities and part numbers, and perform inventory transactions. You will operate hand trucks and powered lifts, load/unload trucks, and conduct cycle counts while maintaining a safe work environment.

The role requires reading Bills of Materials, intermediate computer skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be able to safely use pallet jacks, forklifts, stackers and other moving equipment.
• Must be able to read Bills of Material.
• Must have intermediate level computer skills.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to operate powered lift equipment and pass evaluations.
• 3–5 years PIT or forklift experience.

Responsibilities

• Unload, move and store materials and conduct bin maintenance as needed.
• Unload incoming materials, verify quantities and part numbers, report shortages or damaged material.
• Move materials between cells following routing and orders.
• Fill orders from storage and deliver to designated cells.
• Operate hand trucks and powered lift trucks to move materials and stack pallets.
• Load outgoing trucks and perform inventory transactions in the business system.
• Perform cycle counts and document actions via forms.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and conserve resources.
• Train others in material handler tasks as needed.
• Inspect all work prior to passing to the next operation.
