Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is seeking a Material Handler I to support manufacturing operations in Romeoville, IL. You will fill orders, move materials, verify part numbers, and conduct inventory transactions in the ERP system.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and teamwork within a busy production environment. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, with 0–1 years in a manufacturing setting preferred, and must be able to use pallet jacks and read Bills of Material.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• 0–1 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and other manual moving equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
• Able to work with others in a team to support manufacturing processes.
• Experience in warehouse or manufacturing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders and move materials between cells/departments.
• Check identification for quantities and part numbers.
• Conduct inventory transactions in the system.
• Unload, move and store materials; perform bin maintenance as needed.
• Move materials between cells following routing and orders.
• Operate hand truck to move materials and stack pallets.
• Release and maintain Kanban status; report late orders.
• Perform cycle counts and document actions.
