We are seeking a Material Handler II – Laboratory Operations to support clinical laboratory and research operations within a fast-paced, highly regulated biotech environment.
This position goes beyond traditional warehouse work. The ideal candidate will combine material handling and inventory experience with strong customer service, computer skills, reporting, and analytical abilities .
You will work closely with laboratory, clinical, research, purchasing, and other internal teams. This role requires someone who can communicate professionally with internal customers, manage inventory accurately, use computer systems, run reports, review data, identify discrepancies or trends, and help solve operational issues.
We are looking for someone who is tech-savvy, organized, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and interested in growing into additional responsibilities over time.
Receive, inspect, and put away inbound materials.
Pick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments.
Stock laboratory, warehouse, and operational areas.
Move, store, and distribute hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
Reconcile purchase orders with packing slips and receiving documentation.
Maintain accurate inventory records and appropriate stock levels.
Support shipping, receiving, and material distribution activities.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal laboratory and clinical customers regarding materials, inventory, orders, and deliveries.
Provide professional, responsive customer service to laboratory teams and other departments.
Respond to questions and resolve routine material or inventory issues.
Communicate proactively regarding shortages, delays, discrepancies, and other concerns.
Build strong working relationships across departments.
Balance customer service with accuracy, compliance, and established procedures.
Run and review inventory, material, and operational reports.
Use data to identify inventory discrepancies, shortages, trends, and potential issues.
Research and investigate variances between system records and physical inventory.
Maintain accurate data within inventory and business systems.
Use Excel and other business systems to track information and support daily operations.
Help organize and analyze operational data to support decision-making.
Identify opportunities to improve processes based on reporting and data.
Communicate findings and issues clearly to appropriate team members.
Follow company SOPs, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate receiving, inventory, and distribution documentation.
Document nonconformances and assist with root-cause and corrective-action activities.
Follow procedures for hazardous, temperature-sensitive, and regulated materials.
Perform Dangerous Goods/HazMat shipments when trained and qualified.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment.
Use inventory, purchasing, shipping, and other business systems.
Learn new software and systems quickly.
Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook regularly.
Support reporting and data-analysis activities.
Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Take initiative and learn additional responsibilities as the operation grows.
High School Diploma or Associate Degree required
Bachelor's degree preferred
At least 1 year of material handling, inventory, warehouse, laboratory, manufacturing, or operations experience
Experience in GMP, ISO, medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, or another regulated environment highly preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills
Comfortable working directly with internal customers and cross-functional teams
Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems
Experience running reports and working with data
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to review information, identify discrepancies, recognize trends, and investigate problems
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
Excellent organization and time management
Strong problem-solving skills
Dependable and accountable
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility

You will combine:

The successful candidate will be comfortable both working with materials and working with people and data .
