Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking a Material Handler in Cincinnati, OH to support Operations by moving materials and finished products with powered industrial equipment. The role requires forklift operation certification and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Typical duties include loading/unloading trucks, scanning materials with a hand scanner, stocking bulk storage, and providing replenishments to workstations. The position is on-site with a 2:00 PM–10:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Material handling experience preferred.
• Ability to read verbal and written instructions.
• Must be forklift operation certified.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Uses a hand scanner to track materials.
• Picks up incoming materials from the Receiving dock.
• Unloads and puts away stock in Bulk storage.
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner.
• Picks and stocks correct product to boxes and pick locations.
• Transfers finished products to designated areas.
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas.
• Operates a pallet jack (manual and/or motorized).
• Reports problems to manager and aids in resolution.

Job Summary

Supports Operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility with a variety of powered industrial equipment.

Essential Job Functions *

• Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment
• Loads and unloads trucks
• Ability to use a hand scanner
• Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
• Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
• Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
• Transfers finished products to designated areas
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas
• Operates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Material handling experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
• Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Material Handler: Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Material Handler: Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
