Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking a Material Handler I to support Operations by moving and stocking materials and finished products. The role operates on 1st shift, Mon–Fri, with overtime possible to meet business needs and job completions.

Key duties include using a hand scanner, receiving materials, unloading stock, replenishing workstations, and moving products to designated areas. Forklift and pallet jack certification are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Handheld RF scanner use is required to track materials.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• Experience or familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move and stock materials and finished products to designated areas.
• Provide replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner.
• Unload and store stock in Bulk storage area.
• Pull and stock correct product to boxes and pick locations.

Material Handler I

Schedule

1st Shift - Monday - Friday - 700 AM - 330 PM (based on business needs and job completions which could include overtime both during the week and on weekends)

Supports Operations by moving and stocking materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility.

Essential Job Functions *

• Ability to use a hand scanner
• Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
• Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
• Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
• Transfers finished products to designated areas
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas
• Operates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
• Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Operational Equipment

• Hand-held RF Scanner, manual/motorized pallet jack

Work Environment

Material Handler Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Material Handler Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
