Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking a Material Handler for 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with overtime as needed. Base rate is $17.50 per hour.

You will move and stock materials, use a hand scanner, unload and stock from Receiving and Bulk areas, and replenish workstations. Forklift or pallet jack certification is required.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to lift up to 70 lbs, stand for long periods, and follow verbal/written instructions.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation certification is required or preferred.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Schedule:1st Shift - Monday - Friday - 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM (based on business needs and job completions which could include overtime both during the week and on weekends)

Base Rate:$17.50/Hour

Supports Operations by moving and stocking materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility.

Essential Job Functions *

• Ability to use a hand scanner
• Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
• Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
• Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
• Transfers finished products to designated areas
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas
• Operates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
• Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Operational Equipment

• Hand-held RF Scanner, manual/motorized pallet jack

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Material Handler: Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Material Handler: Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
